A colourful and intricate Persian scene in gouache, picked out in gilt. The scene shows a several figures of royalty carried in howdah on the back of elephants. The image is filled with delicate patterns and motifs. The painting is unsigned and presented in a substantial 20th Century gilt frame with layered red and gold card mount. On cotton linen.
