Description

A view of the Tower, a formation which is part of the landslide known as Alport Castles in the Peak District. The name 'Castles' comes from the debris from the landslide, which has produced several gritstone mounds that tower over the valley and appear from the distance to look like castles. The Tower is the largest of these outcrops. Presented in a white mount. Inscribed with the location on the verso. Unsigned. On watercolour paper laid to board.

Condition

There is some mild foxing and discolouration and some concave distortion of the board.

Size
