A landscape featuring thatched buildings and grazing sheep in the foreground. Presented glazed in a wash line mount with gold detailing and a distressed gilt-effect wooden frame. Unsigned. There is a label on the verso with details about the artist. On watercolour paper.Condition
There is some slight discolouration and some small dents to the frame. Overall in very good condition.

Artist Biography
Herbert George (fl.1906-1939) was a painter of landscapes in watercolour. The artist lived at Hindhead and Gomshall, Surrey, and studied at South Kensington, Herkomer's at Bushey and Newlyn, under Stanhope Forbes, and in St Ives under John Noble Barlow. He was working in the Lamorna valley in 1905, and in 1906 exhibited and sold Landscape with Sheep at NAG's Summer exhibition.
