Description

This charming countryside study depicts a narrow boat owner having a quick rest while opening the next lock gate on the canal. To the far right of the composition a horse can be seen pulling the boat through the opening. The painting is signed to the reverse by the artist. Beautifully presented in a double card mount and bold gilt-effect frame. Glazed. On board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration the the double card mount.
