Description

A fine mid 19th Century watercolour, showing a finely dressed man in a wig, sitting at his desk, writing a letter with his quill, filled from the inkwell in front of him. The scene has a wonderful simplicity in the details, making it a very immediate and historically representative piece. Unsigned. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some light scuffing to the surface. Small loss to the upper left corner.
