A fine early 20th Century portrait of a beautiful young girl in profile, wearing a lace white veil with a pink, fur collared dress. The style of her dress and veil and the young girl's age, suggest that this is an Edwardian Confirmation portrait. The painting is unsigned and presented in an early 20th Century gilt frame with beaded strap work, egg and dart molding and acanthus leaf ornaments at the upper left and lower right corners. On canvas.
Condition
The painting has some discolouration and age texture to the varnish, typical for its age. There is some craquelure to the surface. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of restoration, particularly at the fur collar of the dress. The frame has s loss to the ornament at the lower right corner.
