A striking continental landscape with a complex grouping of hamlets and towns settled around a meandering river. Many figures occupy areas of the landscape, fishing, rowing, strolling in couples, under a blue sky. The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been handsomely presented in a 20th Century gilt frame with ornate, scrolling acanthus leaf molding and a linen slip. On canvas.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Two canvas repairs at the reverse that have been fully repaired at the front.
