Description
A poignant early 20th Century oil interior, showing a tired old bloodhound resting on the floor by a door that is loose on its hinges with a gunshot hole in the wood. Debris covers the floor and a shotgun can be seen in the foreground. It appears as if there is been an intruder and a struggle and the dog is resting after its efforts to see off the unwanted visitor. The artist has signed to the lower right and the painting has been presented in a fine early 20th Century gilt frame with internal gilt slip. There is a canvas stamp at the reverse. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has some tarnishing and scuffing as well as losses to the molding at the outer edges.
