A pleasing 20th century village church scene, painted in a captivating impressionistic manner. Centre to the colourful composition a figure is depicted rushing on a bicycle towards the church door, late for service. Wispy dense pollarded trees cast a beautiful display of light and shade across the whole church yard. Indistinctly signed to the lower left-hand corner. The painting is beautifully presented in a toned gilt-effect frame, with velvet brown cushioned slip, as shown.

Condition
There is one small chip to the wooden frame. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Overall the painting is in fine condition.
