A very fine and interesting oil on board, with impressionistic details, depicting two dolls sitting with a wicker chair and a blanket in an interior. The artist has a fine command of the medium, with careful construction of line and form. Well-presented in a swept gilt frame with pronounced centre and corner ornamentation, and a fabric slip. Signed illegibly. On board.
Condition
In fine condition overall. There is a surface mark in the paint to the upper right quadrant. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. The frame has some very minor scuffing to the corners.
