Description

An original soft ground etching with hand coloured details by the listed British artist Henry George Walker. It is signed in pencil to the lower right below the plate line. Also monogrammed in plate. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a simple gilt effect frame. Signed. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some trapped dirt underneath the glazing. Smalls scuffs to the frame.

Artist Biography

Henry Walker (1876-1932) came from Birmingham and was active as an etcher from 1921. He specialised in architectural and topographical subjects. Many were views in the South West such as Tenby in Wales or Brixham in Devon with their fishing vessels and harbours. Walker moved to Devon in 1929.
