Description

An impressive watercolour study by listed British artist James Vivien de Fleury (1847-1902). The scene shows a group of labourers returning from a days work on the fields. Precise and meticulous brushwork is typical in the work of de Fleury, as well as the picturesque qualities of light. Well presented in a washline mount and simple gilt effect frame. Signed and inscribed. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. With scattered foxing and losses to the centre of the artwork. There are also surface marks to the page and small holes to the upper corners. With light scuffing to the edges of the frame.
