John Collins was born in Wells, Somerset. He was educated at Wells Blue Grammar School and the West of England College of Art. Collins has worked for various commercial studios and during the 1980's he started his own business as an illustrator and designer. He has illustrated various children's books and he has exhibited his paintings widely throughout the West country.
