A fine Scottish landscape in oil from the late 19th Century. The scene shows a figure fishing at the rocky bank of a rushing river, winding its way down from the Scottish peaks. The painting is unsigned and presented in a tarnished gilt frame. There is an inscription to the stretchers at the reverse with the location. On canvas.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Inspection under UV light reveals some areas of restoration. There is tarnishing and surface dirt to the frame with some minor losses.

Glen Affric (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Afraig) is a glen south-west of the village of Cannich in the Highland region of Scotland, some 15 miles (25 kilometres) west of Loch Ness. The River Affric runs along its length, passing through Loch Affric and Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin.
