In this atmospheric etching, a river floats passed a distant town.
Finished with plate tone.
Signed in graphite and monogrammed on the plate.
Well presented in a thin gilded wood frame with glazing and a white mount board.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are some marks and scuffs tot eh frame, and some areas have been re-gilded.

Artist Biography
Painter and printmaker born in Bellagio, Italy, Percy Robertson was the son of an accomplished painter and engraver Charles Robertson, (1844-1891). Educated at Charterhouse, Percy Robertson was a talented watercolour landscape painter and very capable etcher being elected a member of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers in 1908. It was about this time that he executed a series of approximately 200 views of the Thames from Oxford to Kingston on Thames. Robertson exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and at the RE who elected him an Associate in 1887 and a Member in 1908. He was also a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle and at the Ipswich Art Club, 1895-1905. Three of his works were displayed at the Centenary Exhibition in 1974. The Cleveland Museum of Art, Ohio has examples of his etchings.
