Description
A characterful early 20th Century portrait of a jolly man, sitting with his clay pipe in one hand and a full tankard of frothy ale in the other. He is wearing a big smile and a linen apron, indicating he might be a barman or landlord of a tavern. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner and the painting has been handsomely presented in an early 20th Century gilt frame with swept rail and corers with acanthus leaf details and floral strap work. The frame is finished with a gold mount with the title and artist's name inscribed at the lower edge. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some debris trapped behind the glazing. The frame is in fine condition.
